[ he was probably in another part of the house, but he does approach lucien's room with a lil knock before letting himself in. he's carrying some fruit in a bowl, a bottle of water, and a notebook before handing the first two to lucien and having a seat to look him over.

[yosuke can let himself in. there is a painting of a cockroach in his room for some reason, while lucien himself is sitting on his bed, idly petting a white cat who also clearly lives here going by the other cat stuff in the room. lucien looks a little pale/feverish, but he's not injured anymore.]

[ okay he just stops and the thoughtshare is real loud here.

"lucien, why do you have a cockroach painting?" ]

[he smiles.]

My father once asked Mael to paint the most beautiful subject in the kingdom, and this was his response. [aka it was lucien's item from last week. he did say mael was a weirdo.] I'm quite fond of it myself.

[ this is so funny? he also seems to think this is so funny while he wanders over to drop his offerings on lucien and also look at this painting. after a few minutes, he takes the notebook and scribbles out a note. ]

You know, I think I can respect that. At least the guy's very...himself.

[he takes the offerings, before looking yosuke over.]

Did the river take your voice? ... But yes, I can always trust Mael to be himself.

[Except for when he's being impersonated but that's a different matter.]

[ he flaps a hand like "yes but that part doesn't matter" because lucien was the one on cyoa. ]

Have I mentioned how much I hate the whole impersonation thing? Because I do, a lot.
Still... it must be kinda comforting to have at least one thing you're familiar with here.

[ he holds up his wrist where he's wearing what looks like a fairly decent-looking watch. ]

Not exactly what I was expecting from him, but good enough for me.

Not that I'm surprised. I'm more confused how the hell he got here.

[ but he's accepted a while ago that if anyone even hinted yu was in danger, he'd just throw himself in without question. ]

[a little nod, before he presses a hand to his head briefly because he feels a dizzy spell.]

Indeed. I have no idea how Mael landed himself in Purgatory either.

When was the last time you saw him before we got here?

A week ago, maybe? I'd been avoiding him lately, but last we spoke, he was going to hole himself up in his room to read the latest entry in his favourite novel series.

If only we could all be as chill as Mael.

Why were you avoiding him anyway?

The witch took on his form on occasion to use me, which I wasn't aware of until the others informed me. As a result, to ensure I didn't leak any information, it was for the best that I not see him until things were dealt with.

Okay well that sucks. Not that I don't understand, but you probably couldn't even really tell him just in case it wasn't him, huh?
I guess I was just wondering if the timing had to do with why he might've been here.

I'm not so careless as to jeopardize everything simply because of my emotions.

Honestly, I can't see how he might've lost his life, unless he had some kind of freak accident. As far as I know, he never died in any of the previous timelines.
